This guide will teach you how to check if your Bitmain Antminer KA3 is grounded properly with the picture explained.
When you see all chips in the Bitmain Antminer KA3 status had become “xxxxxx”, it might not necessarily be a hash board defect but a miner grounding issue.

The control boards and hash boards can eventually become damaged if the Bitmain Antminer KA3 miners are improperly grounded because electricity can leak from the wiring system onto the miner’s outer body or casing (because it is a metallic surface).
To improve and extend the Bitmain Antminer KA3‘s shelf life, keep the voltage below 0.3 V. However, a miner will be harmed by voltage levels above 1 V.
- To plan or complete grounding, hire a qualified electrician.
Check the following to test if your Bitmain Antminer KA3 is grounded:
1. The miner must be free of any metal shelves in order to use this technique.
Set the multimeter to 220 volts AC. Place the test lead for the multimeter on the exposed metal shelf and the miner’s aluminum body/casing when it is operating.
- Voltage indicates improper or incomplete grounding and demands immediate attention.
- If there isn’t any voltage, the grounding is sound and there aren’t any leaks.
2. For this method to work, the control board panel of the miner’s metal frame where the Ethernet port is located must be out of contact with it.
The multimeter should be set to 220 V AC. Place the test leads for the multimeter on the miner’s aluminum body and the metal frame of the Ethernet port when it is operating (see the photo below).
- Voltage indicates improper or incomplete grounding, and prompt remedial action is necessary.
- If no voltage is found, the grounding is sound and no leaks are present.
